Question:
All Zodiacs: Is it fair to judge someone based solely on their chart?
2010-11-18 01:17:07 UTC
I'll explain. If someone's chart was laid out in front of you but you had never met them in person and knew nothing about them, would you make certain assumptions about them just on their chart alone? Like saying "Oh, I knew what she was about the second I saw her chart" or "That person must be nice because he has so and so in his chart" and so on..

Would you do this? Personally, I really think that someone who would make blanket statements about a person just by looking at their chart and not knowing them is very ignorant.

Your thoughts?

I definitely don't think it's fair to "judge" someone by their chart. A chart may give insight into someone's personality, however, there will always be other factors: upbringing, socioeconomic class, religion / spirituality, familial influences, and so forth. The chart can give insight into WHY someone responded or reacted to an interaction, but by no means does it completely tell any story.

It think it's half and half... Because no matter what your chart is (which is the basic imprint), life always can bring out different things in a person.

But I would think I'd be given a pretty good picture of them.

I didn't discover natal astrology until I was 19 and a lot happened, but my chart was just completely dead on. Maybe it's just coincidence, but often when I meet someone that sticks out I will give them a while but usually when I do a chart for them, its pretty dead on. I'm not a professional by any means but I have read quite a bit on the subject and have tons of astrology books. I do charts as a party trick sometimes, but people always mostly agree with me. Could just be psychology though.

I mean, logically didn't we all randomly have our charts done for us and think they were pretty correct without the website knowing anything about our lives... lol. Or else we wouldn't even be here.

Zodiac signs and charts can tell a lot about a person but two people with the exact same chart can be really different. Like Twins, when are twins ever exactly alike? I think it's fair if you were stuck in a situation and you had to choose but otherwise it's a 45% chance that they have the trademarks that their charts say they should have.

of course it would be okay to judge someone based solely on their chart (or anything else, for that matter) BUT ONLY IF said person knew how to read a chart in the first place. i ordered a reading and not only did it know me, but it knew me better than i did at the time. most people don't know the first thing about reading a chart but think they do, so that's when problems first arise. problems eventually start to snowball when the judgments don't change and the reader stays fixed on his opinions about the person being judged (nothing is permanent)

conceptually the same but in simpler terms, would it be in ill taste to judge someone based on their body language? well if you're a nonverbal communication expert, then it would be perfectly fine to. but if you weren't then you'd most likely wind up assuming one thing when so many other things could be inferred as well. hopefully you grasp my point

as for reading charts, the chart NEVER changes. meaning your chart reveals information about you throughout your ENTIRE life span. in vedic astrology at least, there are cycles that determine what planet will be significant during a certain part of your life. i'm not sure if western astrology has anything like that (i think it goes purely off of transits to the natal chart?), but people are attributing placements and aspects on their chart to their "cause of personality" (a birth chart does not cause a personality lol... it shows what we are inclined to do or not do) which may have no real meaning to the present

California is an incredibly diverse state. I live in the far north of the state in Crescent City. The population of the entire county is 25,000. Plastic fashionistas? Here, if you can't get it at WalMart, you can't get it. We have 300 foot Redwoods and 100 inches of rain a year. I say this only to demonstrate an extreme. This state has everything in between, be it culture, climate or city size. LA is a pretty easy place to get lost in. As one person said, "There is no there there". On the surface it all looks the same, the prototype for strip mall America. Dig deeper and you will find one of the most culturally diverse cities in the world. Go to events and places where you are likely to meet people you can relate to and maybe you'll find a niche for yourself. If you still can't stand the place (I can relate) just bear in mind that California is the size of many European countries, and if it was a country it would be the 7th largest economy in the world. Surely there is a place for you somewhere here!

No, The chart can be used as a basic information of his/her personality. But a chart cna never describe how someone else is completely, hell, most of us haven't been able to completley know ourselves yet! I DO read charts, and start to have an idea of what the person ,might be like, and if you want to judge someone by their chart, then be it, it's way better than judging that person by their sun sign anyway.....

Sun in Virgo

Moon in Sagittarius

well i have never done this, but i recently discovered that every person i've had an issue with and that i knew their astrological info, they were extremely incompatible with me. i think actually in the future i might be able to predict a lot more than i thought i could in previous times. however i have not taken up this practice yet. i am still very much a student of the science of life, i must preform experiment after experiment.

I dont beleive you can fully tell your chemistry based on charts. if i looked at the guy i liked i wouldnt say we are compabitle, but it works cos we are so different and compliment each other.

Most definitely the birthchart is the truth.

Sun: Taurus

Moon: Libra

Mercury: Aries

Learning about people's birthcharts has helped me to avoid alot of drama

Few assumptions I believe can be made based on a persons Zodiac sign.

However generally a persons Zodiac sign doesn't tell it all if anything,

I guess that depends upon how qualified you are to interpret the chart.

Yes it's correct to do this.

Here in India we decide who to marry looking at charts, its all good.
