Is scorpio man playing with my head or is it really over?

Question

I am going to try keep this as short as possible! Keep in mind there are ALOT of details missing but here are the main points:

- He is 24 I am 23. He is Scorpio man with Cap Venus and Scorpio Mars. I am Gemini sun, Gemini moon, Taurus Venus and Mars in Aries.
- We met 6 months ago through friends - hit it off instantly.. however he has a girlfriend.
- We kept things PG rated (obviously) for the first couple of months.. we only bumped into eachother a few times.
- After a while we could feel we really liked eachother. he took a break from his GF. in that time we hooked up. He realised he couldnt be with her any longer so he broke up with her.
- A few days later i left and moved overseas (he knew about it).
-We spoke ENDLESSLY for 3 months whilst i was overseas. Shared alot with eachother. safe to say we both were falling for eachother.
- He decided to come visit me overseas. Had an amazing time. on the last leg of the trip he was sad he wouldnt see me for a long time so he flew me to Amsterdam to spend one last weekend with me. He payed for the whole thing.
- 2 months later i had to move back home because of family issues. Upon telling him what happened.. he went strange. From that moment we hardly spoke (he used to msg me everyday without a doubt).
- Ive been back for a month now and we hardly talk.
-We were meant to catchup during the week but he didnt want to come down my end of town.. basically he was being a d*ck! So a few days later i cancelled on him.
-I deleted him off snapchat and instagram because i was just sick of seeing his face haha... and it felt like i could release a bit of hurt that way too. Anyway, the day after i did it.. i randomly went on his FB profile and he deleted me off FB!
- We both went to my friends birthday party last week, we were standing in the same group but it felt so awkward so i just walked off and chatted to another guy. Didnt see him the rest of the night. A few hrs after he left i sent him a msg "Deleted me off FB, must have done real bad!" and he said 'snapchat? instagram? i must have done bad too". I meantioned why i cancelled the catchup and he said it was a shi*t reason to cancel and he was really looking forward to it.
-The conversation went no where and it was just us being stubborn.
- I said what is happening between us, are we gonna catch up or just walk away and he said he thinks it is too damaged. So i said ok bye.. im not keeping him if he doesnt want to stay. But he kept messaging me back even after i said bye... almost like he was waiting for me to beg for him not to..

I've left out a lot of things but don't want it to be too long!

Is this typical scorp behaviour? I dont get how he could be so cold after he consistently told me how much he liked me and wanted to be with me! I was sometimes taken back with how intense he was. Should i contact him and break the ice or just walk away?

He is playing games and wants you to chase or give reassurance to him because he is feeling insecure. He probably met someone else while you were away that is why he is acting funny now that you are back. Instead of being honest, they can play the passive aggressive game so that they dont have to open up. Make him man up, no contact, make him do it.
