We can make guesses, some of which, by chance come true. Actual prediction of the future is not possible. The reasons are :

1. The basic concept of astrology that the sun, all the planets and all the stars revolve round the earth, which was believed by people of early days of civilisation, has been proved to be incorrect. Now we know that the earth and all the planets revolve round the sun and the stars have their independent orbits in the galaxy they belong to. But astrology still goes by the belief that earth is at the center and the celestial bodies including the sun, planets and stars revolve around it. It also considers sun as a planet as one of the naba grahas.

2. Astrology has no relation either with astronomy or any other branch of science, though so claimed.

3. The theory that the planets gain or loose strength while moving round has no evidence in support thereof.

4. The theories that the planets have mutual friendship or enmity between them has no logical or scientific basis and is simply imaginary. The other theories for prediction of human destiny etc. also do not have any logical or scientific basis.

5. Zodiac signs are imaginary creations by human beings by drawing imaginary lines between stars which are lying millions of light years (distance covered by light in a year running at a speed of 186000 miles per second) away from one another, both vertically and horizontally, for studying the map of the sky and for understanding the universe.

6. It is against the teachings of religion. No religious texts deal with the subject of stars and planets controlling or guiding human life and destiny.

7. Vedas and Upanishads condemned the subject.

8. Great religious teachers, sadhus and saints never preached or advised people on the basis of astrological theories.

You carefully follow his interests, inclinations and merits and give him guidance accordingly.

Horoscope is not a reliable guide. Sages of ancient India pointed out the futulity of such efforts and faith on stars and planets. When astrology came to India from the middle-east countries, it was rejected by our sages on the ground that it is not useful to human life and society. The Vedas and the Upanishads condemned it stating that it takes a person to the darkest regions of ignorance. Srimad Bhagbat Gita teaches us to have faith on one's own self and on God alone. Religious texts irrespective of faith, creed or class do not deal or deliberate on stars and planets or the methods of calculation of human destiny from those inanimate objects in the sky. Great religious teachers, sadhus and saints such as Sankaracharyya, Madhabacharyya, Ramanuja, Mahavira, Gautam Buddha, Chaitanya Dev, Guru Nanak, Sri Ramakrishna, Guru Ramanand, Sant Kabir, Tailanga Swami, Swami Vivekananda and also great Tantric sadhaks like Bama Khsyapa, Kamalakanta and others did never preach or advice people on the basis of such faith. The geo-centric theory on which astrological horoscopes are drawn has long been proved wrong. But astrology till date is following the said method for drawing the birth chart. It is said that horoscopes are prepared with the help of astronomy. Yes, only to the extent for ascertaining the position of stars and planets as seen from the earth. But its relation with astronomy or any other branch of science stops there. The birth chart is prepared on the erroneous notion that the earth is at the center and the sun, moon, all planets and the stars revolve round the earth. The sun is considered as a planet being one of the nav grahas. The various theories on the basis of which predictions are made have nor relation or basis on astronomy or any other branch of science. The theories of prediction, powers of stars, planets, zodiac signs, their mutual relation of friendship and enmity etc. etc/ have no logical or scientific basis. The subject stands on misconception, misinformation, imagination and faith bordering superstition.
