Are we born innocent?

When born, everyone considers children innocent. But are we innocent at birth only to be corrupted by the world throughout life? Is it true that only curiosity kills the cat, or is the cat already dieing? when we are children, we exist and our sole meaning for existence is survival and comfort. In truth, comfort when we are born is more important to us that survival. You who are around kids know that there curiosity is really what gets them into trouble, and they lie to get out of trouble so they don't have to feel the pain of punishment. But is the lieing starting from fear, or selfishness? Parents also know (if there good) the meaning of selflessness, and above that, love. They would also know the feeling of receiving neither from the child at a point of time. Are we born in innocence? I don't know everything and I may not of explained my thoughts clearly, I'm just curious. Are we truly born innocent and as we get older, we become corrupt, or are we already "soul sick" and selfish for pleasure? I found it curious.

I will not pretend to be God..and I think your judgment or final grade in life is up to the Creator of the Soul. The Source of your being.

Nothing you do or think is hidden..it is recorded, even if you forgot. The Brain records..the Heart records..your cells record...even your hair and fingernails.

I know energy never dies, just your shell we call a body. But I look at it this way..If Hitler,Dahmer or Gacy were reborn, are they innocent souls? . You have a soul that has an assignment..you fail the assignment or go off your path and play hooky.then you fail at life and you are faced with even more challenges next time around.

Lifetimes are like Banks..you either have credits or debits..your assignment is to reach a balance at least before you exit and meet your Maker. Karma or Blessings does not die because you make the transition. But it is ideal to deposit as much good as you can..better to have a surplus and pass it on to your seed ,than a debit and curse your seed..because Karma works like that too.

Born harmless, religions twist your head. Faith has truely convinced persons that there may be an invisible man -- residing within the sky -- who watches the whole thing you do, each minute of every day. And the invisible man has a certain list of ten matters he does no longer need you to do. And if you happen to do any of those ten things, he has a targeted location, stuffed with fireplace and smoke and burning and torture and discomfort, the place he'll ship you to live and undergo and burn and choke and scream and cry endlessly and ever 'til the tip of time! However He loves you. -- George Carlin Politically incorrect, could 29, 1997 The quandary with born-once more Christians is that they are a good bigger agony the 2d time around. -- Herb Caen, San Francisco Chronicle (20 July 1981)

Of course we're born innocent: we have nothing to be guilty of.

We're also completely ignorant of our true selves, what we're doing, and the consequences of what we do.

If you trip a switch that electrocutes somebody when you're six months old, you can hardly be guilty of anything except no knowing the ramifications of your actions. Guilt requires intent, which requires awareness. Newborn children have neither.

I believe we are born clean. I believe that the environment is the one that messes everyone up. The smoking, the drinking, the television and all the crazy things we are influenced as we grow. I don't believe in god so I think it is BS when people say if you commit sins, you will go to hell. I think that everyone isn't innocent their whole lives and when the "Bible" says we have to atone, it is complete BS.

what i'm saying is.... it's "Human nature" to be somewhat badly influenced.

According to most Christian sects, no one is born innocent. They carry with them "original sin" committed by Adam and Eve in the Old Testament. Thankfully, not every faith agrees with this absurd concept. It's the only piece of doctrine that I can agree with when it comes to Mormonism..

We are born with our own little characters and personalities but I believe we are born as innocent as can be.
