Question:
Is it true that your natal chart changes with age (Astrology)?

i read an answer on here that states this. That everyone has a progressed chart, and that you add the number of years you've been alive to your birthday...and you have a 'new birthday', along with a new chart :S this actually would mean that our charts are different every year, e.g. my birthday is July 11th, so i add 17 years to that, and my 'new' birthday is July 28th, making me a Leo, then in 20 years time it'll be Aug 28th and i'll be a Virgo....what the??...when the whole meaning of a 'birthday' means the day you were physically born on, how is it even possible to change that? :S i'm confused....what's all this 'progessive chart' business about?

I'm with Cindy. I believe that the whole natal chart is supposed to be the map of your personality and your goals for the rest of your life. It's like your blue print of the phases in your life.

Like Cindy, the older I get, the more I follow my chart. The more I become my chart.

NO! Your natal chart is your natal chart and stays with you forever. It shows your basic potential and character. But there are various ways of progressing this through the years to show which areas of your natal chart will be prominent at different times.

Secondary progressions take one day for each year and add this to your date of birth to derive your progressed chart - this is what I think you are talking about.

In addition Solar Arc Directions take one degree for each year and move the whole chart by this amount.

Also you have a Solar Return which gives you the focus of the year ahead - this is taken from the chart for the time/date when the sun returns to its exact position that it was when you were born and of course you have a new one every year as a nice birthday present!

Some traditional methods of charting progress are 'Firdaria' and 'Profection'. Profection moves the chart by one sign or house for each year whilst Firdaria is a bit more complicated and divides the life into chunks of different numbers of years, with each chunk being ruled by a specific planet.

the natal chart details the positions of the planets and signs on your minute

of birth - adjusted for your location on the earth. That is static - it doesn't change.

As you age, you go through a variety of experiences. Astrologers attempting to forecast

your future have a couple methods. One is to advance the position of the sun one day

for each year of your life. It works out. That is your progressed chart and of course it changes.

You are not static. Not still a little baby. But your birth chart still gives clues to

your life path and personality - what you came in with. Still, you can learn and grow.

yes, you can "actualize" you chart, to say like that.

because astrology is about symbols, we can also symbolically equal one day with one year and bring to life progressions. so, the planets after 3 days will also show your 3th year of life. surprisingly, seems to work!

Another method is the solar revolution which tells than on your birthday, when the Sun comes to the same position that in your natal chart, the position of the planets give information about the whole year. This is also a good method, but I prefer progressions.

In the link below you can see a great astrological book about this king of techniques.
