Question:
When you look at a natal chart (study it, aspects, signs in planets, houses), do you make an interpretation?

Of how the person may be?

Say you were to meet someone (a stranger and only know their gender and age), and were given their natal chart to possibly make an interpretation of how they would be, would you? Do you believe that you would be right? If they were an Gemini, for example, known to be talkative, would you suddenly become talkative yourself? Take on extroverted characteristics to accommodate them, yourself to them? If there were Square aspects from Mercury to other placements, how would you interpret that? A slow mind? Would you feel superior to them thinking that those aspects may make them have trouble communicating, learning, etc? Just as an example, again.

It is not possible to tell anything about a person by the position of the stars and planets at the time and place of birth, it's really medieval thinking, you may as well ask a witchdoctor.

If you read your 'stars' in your local paper for a laugh, I have no problem with that, in the USA as a matter of interest they put a disclaimer on them saying they are for entertainment purposes only, great!

When you start making important life changing decisions because of the position of the stars, it gets a bit more serious.

A good example was President Regan, did you know he once postponed SALT talks (Strategic Arms Limitation Talks) with the Russians because Nancy told him his 'stars' were not in a favourable position, Scary!!

I've posted my Natal chart many times and challenged so called 'astrologers' to tell me something about myself that no one else could possibly know, to date I haven't even had a reply let alone an accurate one, so go ahead astrologers, put up or shut up!

I also include my wife Janine (Nee Watts), try that one, I can be more subjective perhaps.

James Randi by the way will give you $1,000,000 if you can prove your nonsensical claims, many have tried, they have all failed, please tell me why YOU haven't tried.

EDIT: Come on you experienced astrologers, where are you?????????????

It really doesn't matter if you do or don't because whether you know what's happening between you or not, it's going to happen. In general I think it is an EXCELLENT idea to look into the chart and interpret it as you outlined in your question, so that you can be proactive and productive about the destinies that will unfold in your relationship. Although in practical reality, you would probably only want to do this with relationships you consider very important unless you have a lot of extra money to pay an astrologer, a lot of free time to spend developing trustworthy interpretations on your own, or a lot of naivety to put your trust in some free website.

yeah i do try to interpret the chart because you have to get to know people. what's life without getting to know people? so i use the charts to figure out what they like, what they don't like, and their strengths and weaknesses. it's a tool that i use to help people. like when i get around a gemini, they have two sides to them so they're either a little forceful or very shy. it helps me understand them better. basically with a gemini, you know you're getting someone who has ideas. that's how it is with air signs. and geminis like to organize people but one thing about air signs is they can feel very alone. they don't have a lot of confidence and that's where the fire signs come in. so i know that if i'm around a gemini, i need to get this person near a sagittarius. and then it helps to know why these two match up. they match up because sagittarius is fascinated with corruption and thinks big. and their fieryness makes them fearless and focused and totally unafraid to speak their minds. so the sagittarius would talk to the gemini about corruption, and then the gemini would fix it. think of the fire signs as questions and the air signs as answers. so with a gemini, you gotta keep throwing it questions. plus, it helps that sagittarius has the brightest smile. you need someone to sell those ideas, and gemini can't. air signs can't sell their ideas. they were very unfortunate in being born with such brilliance and no charisma, hence their low confidence in general. but fire signs can sell anything. and you take a gemini's ideas and slap a sagittarius's smile on it and bam, you got something people will buy.

Yes, indeed, that is what an astrologer is! I would not think a square to mercury creates a slow mind, but a slow moon shows that a person processes information very different than a fast moon. I would never feel superior, I am humbled by the accuracy of astrology. I would not think that all Geminis are talkative! What the astrologer does is shows how to be the best in the qualities a person has. We are all gifted in one way or another, astrology can bring to light these gifts.

I will glance once at the person's chart and tell her the good, not the bad and let destiny take its course. For the Mercury square saturn, it would probably be obvious without looking at the chart that the person would have some sort of speech impediment or some stuttering depending.

Well, not an astrologer but I'll give it a go. Yes I have had this happen on two occasions that I remember. One in particular stands out. My moms fiance. He is very homelike and serious-minded. He struck me as a capricorn because being a father has always been important to him. Also he's a very hard worker and he's quiet alot of the time, a stern sort of approach. I get ahold of his chart, turns out he is an aquarius rising, virgo sun, libra moon. Well, I was shocked. I could've mistaken that virgo for capricorn of course, but then I saw saturn in his 2nd. He has had a pretty good income, and doesn't typify the general "learn money responsibilities". He has had a steady income his whole life really. Also, he has a bucket chart with many of his planets in the 7th, 8th, and 9th. He has never considered religion or philosophy to be of much importance and is curious, but not "spiritual" at all. It holds little appeal to him and doesn't impact him. Doesn't talk much about spirituality, seems to not be of focus in his life. Not sure about sex and death but I know his partnerships are important. About the only thing that makes alot of sense. His MC in sag, jupiter in leo opposing the ASC. He has been cheated on 3 times by 2 different women. So that blows the whole "lucky in partnerships" outta the water. An emphasis on mutable signs but he is resistant to change. In fact, he has 5 planets in mutable signs, as well as MC. Uranus, the chart ruler, is in virgo conjunct pluto and mercury and sextiling his neptune-mars conjunction. I knew the pluto one would be more generational so I focused more on his mercury. Although he is very smart, he isn't eccentric and doesn't talk oddly...i.e. no unusual conversations or talks. He is traditional, unlike the aspect suggests. Another thing, he had severe acne growing up. I thought for sure capricorn rising, as they are prone to bad skin (also has weak teeth and knees, another cappy thing). However, I was more sure mars (inflammation) would aspect the ruler of his 6th. Well, the moon rules the 6th, making no major or minor aspects to mars. Also, no mars-ascendant aspect. So I was shocked. This isn't even all of it, there was quite alot that I was surprised by upon examining his chart. Another case of a girl who was acually the opposite. Capricorn rising but didn't act like it. Moon in the 5th but didn't show an interest in having or being around children. Also uranus conj. ASC but was not eccentric and although not dumb, was not that intelligent. Average intellect. There was alot that made sense, but honestly alot didn't either. Mercury ruling the 6th in the 5th. Conjuncting jupiter and no other major aspects. She is not very religious and does not have much interest in spirituality or travel. No intestinal problems. Is very cheery and optimistic though. These are two that stand out most in my mind. Otherwise I haven't encountered this. I happens, eh.........what can I say. Moon in the 4th generally means emotional fulfillment through family which explains the 4 children, but yeah that seems odd. No 5th house planets. What aspects are going on with uranus? In the 12th it would certainly suggest odd ideas and a need for meditation or introspection. Does the moon trine uranus? Still wouldn't indicate children but just thinking aloud I suppose. I'll be thinking about this question awhile. edit: Oh, thought you might find this of interest. Mia Farrow has the Sun peregrine in the 10th ruling the 5th! Some say she is a "professional mother", her career allows this eccentric sun to shine by adopting children. Also, pluto in the 4th, regenerated by family. Just thought I'd mention, I thought it was neat.

no, i use it to know with the people i already know & it kind of makes sense

but i wont judge a person i've never met before by their natal chart, what if the placements in his natal chart show very bad traits according to my perception from the past, i wouldn't give him/her a chance then even if i want to

No. I don't.

I look at our sun signs and that is all, I really am too lazy to study them.

Also, I sound like a freak asking what time they were born.
