Brendan is seriously misinformed.
This "new sign" only affects two groups of people:
(1) astronomers ... oh, but they don't use astrology or do charts
(2) Vedic (East Indian) astrologers, who have been using these changes all along.
You see, there are TWO different zodiacs. The astronomers and Vedic astrologers use the Sidereal zodiac, which has been changing, slowly, since time began, and will continue to change forever. IF you are a Vedic astrologer, before-2011/after-2011 makes no difference. Under the Sidereal system, they have already (years ago) called you a Taurus Sun.
The OTHER zodiac is the Tropical zodiac, the one used in Western astrology. It does not change because it is linked to the point of the Spring Equinox which is linked to the calendar. Nothing changes. You are, and remain, a Gemini Sun.
The mistake that everyone who doesn't understand astrology is making (and that includes you) is that you think that the astrological zodiac is tied to the actual constellations. It isn't. Hasn't been for over 2000 years. Why do astrologers use it? Because it WORKS, and it works well.
If you are going to follow astrology, then at least learn the basics, so you know what you are following (Astrology is NOT about Sun-signs or newspaper horoscopes). I am a professionally-certified astrology (P.M.A.F.A.), certified by the American Federation of Astrologers.
