Partner's moon is in Capricorn and he would like to know what it means for the moon to be detriment. He feels that it sucks to have a Capricorn moon and I have trouble convincing him otherwise.
What are the key things he would need to know in order to navigate this moon placement

It means that the energy of the sign cannot be fully expressed in that placement. It doesn't mean that it's weaker or not as good. Just that the full Capricorn energy cannot best be expressed there. If it was able to full express, the man would have no feelings at all.

You don't need anything to navigate this chart placement. You need to understand astrology better.

A detriment in Astrology is a loss of it's meaning...so you have a moon that is in it's opposite house, looking across the street and see it's natural home is not home. How does this Moon react ?

Well, in my case, the sun is there with a stellium...it still belongs to me...so I accept that and don't mix business with pleasure. While the Sun in Cancer socializes with the stellium buddies. The Cap Moon pays their bills and is never invited....The Cap Moon in my case...enjoys the rewards , works so Cancer can be happy. My Leo Ascendant reaps all the benefits....and is very adoring and grateful..

So in other words...it's a nice balance.

Your Partner has the ability to push his boundaries and accomplish his dreams. The Moon in Cap represents a past of endurance and sacrifice and eventuality gives the native a view from the top of the mountain.

My friends call me ''Sunny Moon On Saturn''.

"In astrology, a celestial body is said to be in detriment, or exile, when it is posited in the zodiac sign opposite the sign it rules (over which it has domicile). When a celestial body is in detriment it is said to be not comfortable in that sign and to tend to operate with the least strength."
